Nintendo Switch Games: The Best and Worst of 2020

The Nintendo Switch has seen some amazing games released on its platform in 2020. From new IPs like Hades and Animal Crossing: New Horizons to ports of popular titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there’s been no shortage of great games to play. However, not every Switch game released this year has been a winner. Here’s a look at the best and worst Nintendo Switch games of 2020.

The Best

Hades – Supergiant Games’ roguelike dungeon crawler Hades was one of the most anticipated games of 2020, and it did not disappoint. With its excellent blend of fast-paced action, deep RPG mechanics, and stunning visuals, Hades is a must-play for any Switch owner.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Another highly anticipated game that lived up to the hype, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a charming and relaxing life sim that’s perfect for Switch. With tons of things to do and collect, New Horizons will keep you busy for months.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – The Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs ever made, and the Switch port is impressive. The game runs well on Switch and includes all of the DLC, making it the definitive way to play The Witcher 3.

The Worst

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – While it’s great to see Xenoblade Chronicles on the Switch, the Definitive Edition is a bit of a letdown. The game is plagued by technical issues, and the new content is lackluster.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a disappointing sequel that fails to capture the magic of the original games. With repetitive gameplay and a lackluster roster of characters, it’s best to avoid this one.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered – Assassin’s Creed III is a dated game that hasn’t aged well. The remastered version on Switch does nothing to improve the game, and is best avoided.
